Graham Charters has posted a new item to the IBM developerWorks blog with pointers to the slides that he presented at the latest PHP Quebec conference covering the use of the <a href="http://www.php.net/sdoSDO libraries.

<quote>

As promised in my previous entry (albeit a little late), here are the SDO slides [pdf] I used at the PHP Quebec conference.

The conference was very well organised and there were a good number of very interesting talks. They don't appear to be available on the conference site, but Chris Shiflett's blog has a list of quite a few that are available elsewhere.

</quote>

You can get more of the slides and information on the presentations from this year's edition from their official site or the gathering he mentions over on Chris' blog.

For those that weren't able to attend this year's PHP Quebec Conference (2006), several bloggers have mde their posts about their experiences there, including Andrei Zmievski.

In his post he not only mentions the actual conference - including mentions of his two talks, PHP6 and Unicode and PHP-GTK2 - but he also gives some of his experiences post-conference.

The post conference program for each day was full as well. On Thursday night we had a dinner for speakers and organizers at the always excellent Àla Decouverte, a small and cozy restaurant with a big taste.

On Friday night we made a visit to the ever popular Les Deux Pierrots [...] and Saturday morning found us at the Sucrerie de la Montagne, a "sugar shack" outside Montreal that lets you take a peek into the process of obtaining and making maple syrup and also manages to feed hundreds of visitors an hour at the rustic wooden tables in its giant restaurant.

<quote>

Finally got a few moments to recap the PHP Quebec 2006 Conference, which as usual, was a great success and a great deal of fun. I'd like to thank the organizers for doing an amazing job and bringing a great group of people together from both the development and user communities. My talks during the conference went quite well, and I am especially happy with the PDO talk, this topic seemed of particular interest to the audience and I hope we'd get a couple of new PDO users out of it.

The two talks, one on PHP Security and the other an Introduction to PDO are available in PowerPoint and PDF forms:

PHP Security: PowerPoint, PDF

<quote>

Next week, I'll be speaking at PHP Quebec in Montreal about testing PHP applications. Agile PHP Testing is a new talk that focuses on really simple approaches to testing, and I hope to demonstrate how creating a test suite is close to what you're probably already doing anyway.
