CICON2011 US is the first CodeIgniter-only conference in the United States, and will be taking place at New Work City in lower Manhattan, New York, on August 20-21 2011. Speakers including Zach Kitzmiller, Eric Barnes, Greg Aker, John Crepezzi, Dan Horrgian, and Kenny Katzgrau will be presenting and conducting masterclasses on topics for developers new to CodeIgniter and advanced CI developers looking to gain new skills and knowledge.

Recently there was a thread on the O'Reilly Radar started by Tim O'Reilly posting a chart that I put together from our book sales data. The chart showed comparative market share for most of the relevant programming languages. I have updated this in the chart below and have included 2005 data as well.

The chart shows the trends each of the languages' sales has followed over the course of the past years. PHP's on the last and seems to have held pretty steady in a time when very few seem to be trending upward.

Well, the rumors (that also made it into blogosphere, including Toby's post) obviously could not be ignored by Zend any longer. Therefore, the German division of Zend just sent out an email to a couple of people officially stating that Zend is currently not negotiating a sale to Oracle.
