First off, we have a cool PHP script that makes your server into a personal MP3 server, including playlists and alphabetical browsing features. And second, O'Reilly has a new article all about Creating Dynamic Next / Previous Buttons with PHP and MySQL. It talks all about how to use PHP in combination with MySQL to generate custom buttons for your site, including using a class to help with the image generation. Worth looking into!
