PHPHead has a link to a CNet article all about PHP and some tips for working with it and other things (such as COM, XML, and Java). Check this one out if you'd like an overview of some of these techniques.
I also noticed that they have a link to their own message board posting on different PHP editors. It's small, but it's more user opinions. And don't forget about our own forum topic on the subject too.
