PHP, Apache and O'Reilly Books
Aug 02, 2001 @ 12:00:04

Zend has a new bit posted today that discusses how some results from ESoft show that PHP has captured 42.65% of the Apache Web server market, with a 12.90% increase in July alone. Wow, this is great news for us PHP folks - it's easier than ever to work with (and for) larger companies that already work with PHP and know some about it. Seems like each place I've worked so far has still relied more on ASP than PHP - but I have a feeling that that will soon change.
Well, the O'Reilly books are here and the content for them should be underway shortly. I think I'll tie it into the whole birthday thing and make it the "First Annual PHPDeveloper.org Birthday Giveaway" or some other such marketing talk. So, keep your eyes pealed for the contest link to enter. We have the following to give away:

  • 3 copies of the PHP Pocket Reference
  • 3 copies of MySQL & mSQL
  • 3 copies of XML in a Nutshell
  • 3 copies of the Apache Pocket Reference
I'm not sure if I want to do this like before and give them away as groups or if I want to prolong it and give them away a few at a time. Email me and tell me what you think and how you would give them away.
