Well, like so many people in the online world, Andrew of EvilWalrus.com has decided to pursue other ventures. He got signed to play on an label and is gearing up to focus on that. This means not too much time for PHP - and not much time for EvilWalrus.com either. From Zend there is a new Zend Engine 2.0 Weekly Chronicle talking about some issues with this->, namespaces, classes and overloading. There is also a new PHP Case Study talking about PHP's role with the Iojomi camera. They use the FastTemplate system and object-oriented code to create a user environment that even non-programmers can use to do things like control the camera, communicate with each other, and has room to grow. They plan on adding MP3 and X10 functionality to the setup later on. This is a very cool little article and the Iomojo camera is very cool thing.

And, lastly (as if there wasn't enough news already) PHPBuilder has a new posting about Using Webalizer to analyze Apache logs. Webalizer is a superior log file analysis tool that is fast and free. With a little intelligent planning and liberal use of PHP, any ISP can begin to offer statistics to the owners of each domain that they host.
