Oddly enough, Zend seems to have departed from the "code Gallery Spotlight" idea and posted a new tutorial. This one shows you how to use output from other Web sites in your own scripts. They give the example of translate.dictionary.com as a way to grab a translation, parse it, and return the result to your page. They cover the advantages and disadvantages of this method also, so don't think you're getting off easy.

Also today, evolt.org has a new piece about their CodeFest 2001. What is it, you ask? Well, CodeFest is a gathering of evolt.org members that usually lasts for a weekend. We work on the evolt.org CMS, talk about evolt.org happenings, talk about politics and world events, drink, joke around, get to know each other, check out waitresses (or waiters), and generally have a good time. Sound like fun? Maybe you could set up a "conference of developers" similar to this in your area...
