Well, just when you thought it was safe to wade out into the 4.1.0 waters, they up and decided that there were just too many "show stopper" bugs in the release and have gone on to make a new release candidate - PHP 4.1.0 RC5. They fixed a few things in this one, but it's not anything too bad. Hey, it's their stuff - they get to be picky about what they want (heh). Thanks to DynamicWebPages.de for the link.

DevShed.com has a new article this morning about using XSL and Sablotron with PHP to do some server-side XML transformations. For those that don't know, Sablotron is, according to its creators, "...a fast, compact and portable XML toolkit implementing XSLT, DOM and XPath". And the bext part? You can compile it into PHP (--with-sablot) and use it to make quick and easy XSL (and XML for that matter) transformations. They use PHP in this case as an "intermediate layer" between the browser and the server (since most browsers don't quite understand XML and XSL yet).

Well, it seems as if the launch date for the new NewbieNetwork was a little premature. Several things came up (read "real life") and the site didn't quite get done.
