MS vs PHP
Feb 20, 2006 @ 12:57:53

From Ilia Alshanetsky's blog today, there's a mention of a cartoon found on Microsoft's site mentioning PHP.

You know you're moving up in the world when Microsoft feels that it’s necessary to make cartoon disparaging your products, in favor of their own wares. Pierre, one of the PHP developers, has found this gem on the French segment of the Microsoft site. I guess it means that PHP is making enough in-roads into the Enterprise market, that big fish like MS feel it necessary to spread some FUD as a stop-gap measure.

PHP Life - The Oracle
Feb 15, 2006 @ 13:14:23

Richard Davey has brought his PHP-centered comic, "PHP Life", back to life with this new strip about the Zend/Oracle rumors.

After a short break the PHP Life team are back. In this strip we look at the Zend/Oracle deal. If Oracle do buy-out Zend then let's hope things fare better for the Zend staff than Oracle staff at the moment!

You can see it here (on his blog), or on the PHP Life site...

Extreme Simplicity (or The Birth of a Comic)
Dec 09, 2005 @ 12:44:57

From Richard Davey's blog today, there's this new post with a happy note about his comic strip from a previous post.

I started the PHP Life cartoon strip last week, and thanks to encouraging feedback both here and via email I bring you the second installment. This week I'm taking a small pot-shot at the new Zend Framework - and the PHP Life guys have moved over to their own domain at www.phplife.org.

So, if you enjoyed the premiere edition of the strip, be sure to add phplife.org to your reading habits.

Now all he needs is an RSS feed to let us know about updates...

$_LIFE - Release regularly, release often (the webcomic)
Dec 04, 2005 @ 22:32:09

Richard Davey has posted this new entry over on his blog, CorePHP, with a "little something different" - a weekly comic strip dedicated to a PHP development company.

How about something a little different? A weekly comic strip dedicated to a PHP development company. Come on in and meet the team...

This strip is dedicated to a sys admin I know who went through exactly this. Meet the guys here each week and see what they get up to!

I'll be interested to see how this pans out - personally, I'd love to have a little PHP humor on the web - especially PHP related. Nice work on the illustration as well, Richard! Keep 'em coming!
