John Cox's Blog:
Book Review - XML Web Development
November 28, 2005 @ 06:18:01

In this new post from John Cox today, there's his review of one of the latest offerings from the SitePoint libraries - "No Nonsense XML Web Development with PHP".

No Nonsense XML Web Development with PHP is a good introduction into development with XML and related technologies. I have two goals for 2006 as it comes to PHP development. The first is to learn OO just a bit better as my mind works procedurally. The second is to have a better understanding of XML and the related technologies. This book has closed a few of the rough edges that I have had with the latter and takes the reader on the development of a simple content management system using the technologies illustrated in the book.

He goes through the chapters talking about their contents and how well they cover them. Overall, he finds it to be agood, flexible book - useful to quite a few levels of developers, not just those looking for an introduction to the topics...
