Keith Casey's Blog:
CodeWords 2010 Recap
November 29, 2010 @ 11:09:12

In a new post to his blog Keith Casey, a speaker on the CodeWorks conference tour, has recapped some of his experiences as a part of the five city tour.

Approximately 10 days ago, I finished the 2010 CodeWorks Tour. This time around with 4 speakers hitting 5 cities, it was smaller, more compact, and generally a little more intimate of an experience. Due to the odd nature of this one, I'm going to skip my usual "Good, Bad, Ugly" conference review format and go straight to some highs & lows.

He breaks it up into a few different topics - the venues (naming Portland as the champ), the presentations he gave and how they progressed over the course of the tour, the attendees, user group involvement and, unfortunately, the TSA hassle they had to deal with.

By my standards, CodeWorks 2010 was a success. By having a smaller team than last year, it was simpler and easier, but more importantly, the single-track nature kept everything focused, moving, and made sure everyone could participate together.

php|architect:
The CodeWorks 2010 early-bird extended to October 4th (TODAY!)
October 04, 2010 @ 08:46:58

As mentioned on the php|architect blog today, they've extended the Early Bird deadline for the event (in all cities) out to October 4th to ensure that everyone that wants to attend is able to get the discount ($75/ticket).

By popular demand, we have extended the early-bird special for our upcoming CodeWorks tour until Monday, October 4th in order to give everybody an opportunity to sign up for one (or more!) of the tour stops for the low, low, low price of $75 (or even cheaper if you get in with groups of five or more).

They'll be in lots of cities all around the country putting on a one-day event talking about things like building APIs and putting your development tools to work. Check out the event website for more details on the cities they'll be in and how you can get your ticket.

CodeWorks 2010 (php|architect & Keith Casey)
September 21, 2010 @ 12:48:51

Both Keith Casey and php|architect have posted announcements about this year's CodeWorks traveling conference tour (previously announced here). First, from the official php|architect post:

CodeWorks 2010 (CWX for short) is a series of one-day technical conferences presented by the php|architect team and sponsored by Adobe. It's slated to stop in five cities, starting November 9th. [...] Each stop features talks presented by the php|a gang on various PHP-related topics, including object orientation, scalability, security, development tools and efficiently building your own APIs.

And from Keith Casey, a presenter on the tour:

This time around we've simplified the whole thing. The team is smaller. The format is simpler. And we're limiting the cities a bit more. We have four people doing 6 presentations on one track across five cities in a span of 10 days. If you've ever been to a tech conference, you know how much effort it can be.

For more information on the conference, check out its official site for dates, times and registration.
