PHPWomen.org: Dutch PHP Conference Experience
by Chris Cornutt June 19, 2008 @ 15:14:22
Lorna Mitchell has posted an update to the PHP Women website with a wrapup from the recent Dutch PHP Conference that happened in Amsterdam on June 14th as written up by one of their Dutch members Ghica van Emde Boas
Meet Ghica van Emde Boas. Ghica is one of our Dutch members, herself a published author. She attended the Dutch PHP Conference in Amsterdam last weekend, and was generous enough to donate three signed copies of her own book which went to assist some of the local ladies in their learning. Here is Ghica's account of her day.
Ghica's day included Zeev Suraski's talk, Marco Tabini's presentation on mayo (oh, and application design) and well as talks from Derick Rethans, Lorna Mitchell and Stefan Priebsch (oh, and the infamous Terry Chay).

Ivo Jansch's Blog: Dutch PHP Conference 2008 update
by Chris Cornutt March 24, 2008 @ 08:47:48
Ivo Jansch has an update on this year's Dutch PHP Conference 2008 posted to his blog today:
The first results of the CFI have been announced. Most requested speaker was Derick Rethans. He'll be at DPC and present an XDebug workshop on the Tutorial Day, and a presentation about the ezComponents framework on the main conference. Most requested topic was a look ahead at PHP5.3 and PHP6. We've found Stefan Priebsch, experienced speaker and expert on PHP migration, to be willing to present this topic. On the main conference day, he will give an overview of the future of PHP.
They're still in the process of looking for other speakers to fill in the last two spots abut the lineup for the rest of the conference is impressive - speakers like Zeev Suraski, Sebastian Bergmann, Gaylord Duke and Ivo Jansch himself will be presenting.
You can get more information about this two day event on the conference's main site.

Ivo Jansch's Blog: DPC2008 Announcement and CFI
by Chris Cornutt February 26, 2008 @ 09:05:00
Ivo Jansch has posted more details about this year's Dutch PHP Conference happening in Amsterdam this June on the 13th and 14th.
I'm proud to announce that we're organizing another edition of the Dutch PHP Conference, with the help of the great people at Zend. It will be in Amsterdam on June 13 and 14 this year. Last year we organized it for the first time, and based on feedback from our visitors we have made several changes to this years event.
Changes include the expansion into two days, increased capacity and the primary language of the conference is English this year. They also included an interesting twist - allowing those attending (or potentially attending) the conference to submit their thoughts to the "Call for Ideas" they would like to see presented.
The main conference site has full details about everything you'd need to know including where and how to register to save your spot.
