/Dev/Hell Podcast:
Episode 32 Tek13
June 07, 2013 @ 12:30:32

The /Dev/Hell podcast have release the episode they recorded live at the php|tek conference that happened earlier this year in Chicago. Hosts Chris Hartjes and Ed Finkler did the show one night following the day's sessions.

At this year's tek13 we did another live show. The difference this time is that we didn't have free booze, so turnout was a little low, but it was still super fun. We talked about hobbies we have outside of coding and how they impact our dev skills (hint: minimally), and what folks favorite talks at tek13 were. Probably other stuff too, but it's been a while and I forgot.

You can listen to this latest episode either though the in-page player or by downloding the mp3 directly. You can also subscribe to their feed for this and future episode updates.

php|tek's Unconference Track & Chair - Michelangelo van Dam
February 13, 2013 @ 09:13:27

The php|tek conference has officially announced the Unconference track that'll be happening at this year's event and their excitement about the chair for the track - Michaelangelo van Dam.

We are excited to announce more details about the Uncon at tek13! This year we are honored to have Michelangelo van Dam (@DragonBe) serve as our Uncon chair. Michelangelo has done this for numerous other conferences in the past and we are deeply thankful to him for agreeing to help organize our Uncon as well.

This year's unconference will be an entire track happening all days of the conference instead of just later in the day on some days. If you're planning on attending the event and either didn't get a talk accepted or just want to talk about something you love, you should consider signing up when you arrive. Sessions for the next day will be selected at the end of each day from the ones added to the schedule.

php|tek 2013 Announced (with Open Call for Papers)
December 19, 2012 @ 09:43:31

php|architect has officially announced their php|tek conference for next year (2013) happening in Chicago, Illinois May 14th through 17th. Additionally, they've also opened their Call for Papers!

So we've been hearing rumors that tek13 wasn't even going to happen this year. Nonsense! We've been extremely busy behind the scenes getting organized as we've been working on the transition of the PHP|architect brand from Blue Parabola to Musketeers.me. Eli, Sandy, Oscar, and Kevin are planning on carrying on the great tek tradition of quality content and community that we're all used to from the BP crew!

The conference will be happening at the usual location just outside of Chicago, near the airport. Registration isn't open quite yet, but the pricing for this year's event has already been posted (including Blind Bird and Early Bird prices). Additionally, if you our your organization are interested in sponsoring the event, you can find out more here.

The Call for Papers will close on January 15th, so be sure and get those submissions in soon!
