The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast, hosted by Cal Evans, has posted their latest interview with a member of the PHP community. In this latest episode Cal talks with Beth Tucker Long.

Cal and Beth talk about her tutorial presentation at Sunshine PHP 2016 about becoming an Open Source contributor. They cover things (other than pull requests) that people can do to make their first contributions to other projects, including the "people" side of things. They also discuss her involvement in the Madison PHP Conference and their inclusion of local speakers. She also offers advice for people wanting to speak at conferences including the most important one: finding a mentor.
