The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast, hosted by PHP community member Cal Evans, has posted their latest episode. This show, another in their series of interviews with a member of the PHP community, features Cal talking with Christopher Pitt.

Cal and Christopher talk about his presentations at ZendCon this year: one talking about asynchronous PHP and the other about using generators to emulate co-routines. They also discuss each of the topics and share some of the things that can be done in PHP right now, not even necessarily a recent version. They mention his Nomad PHP talk on the asynchronous handling too. Christopher also talks about the company he works for, Silverstripe, and how they also contribute back to Open Source community and projects.

The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast has posted their latest interview with a member of the PHP community. In this new episode host Cal Evans talks with Wim Godden at ZendCon 2015.

They talk about the tutorial that Wim presented at the ZendCon conference about security and some of his thoughts on why it (security) is becoming more and more important. Cal also asks Wim which vulnerability he sees most often in both older and more current code. They also briefly talk about database security, tips for preventing SQL injection issues by using PDO or abstraction layers and "trust issues" between your application and database contents. They also talk some about the company Wim works for, Cu.be, a PHP consultancy company.

The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast, hosted by Cal Evans, has posted their latest interview with a member (or in the case members) of the PHP community. In this latest episode Cal talks with Frédéric Dewinne and Oswald De Riemaecker , two representatives from Continuous PHP.

They talk about the Continuous PHP service and what continuous integration is and how it's important in developing applications. They also talk about why they created a PHP-specific solution instead of something more generic that could be applied across languages. There's also some conversation about the backend they use for the tool including Zend Framework 2 and Docker containers for the workers.

The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast, with host Cal Evans, has posted their latest in their series of interviews with members of the PHP community. In this latest episode Cal talks with Margret Staples, a member of the Seattle PHP Community.

Margret and Cal talk about the game that she's been working on for several years, Brunelleschi: Age of Architects, with predominantly a PHP backend. They talk some about the gameplay type and interactions of the game - an MMO (massively multiplayer online) with a focus on user interaction and a browser interface (with a desktop version coming in the future). They also talk about how PHP powers the game and what libraries/frameworks she used to create the system. They also talk some about her participation in the community and speaking experiences she's had.

The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast, hosted by PHP community member Cal Evans, has posted their latest interview with a member of the wider PHP community. In this latest episode Cal talks with Taylor Lovett, Director of Web Engineering at @10up.

They talk about the work Taylor and 10up do with WordPress "at the Enterprise scale" and some of the difficulties they've found during their work. Taylor points out that the term "enterprise" is subjective and could change from company to company. They also talk about some of the improvements they've made and plugins they use to improve their sites' performance. They also talk about Taylor's side project, Dockunit, a "containerized continuous integration service for testing software written in any language across any type of environment."

The Voices of the ElePHPant podcast has posted a new episode in their series of interviews with members of the PHP community from all around the world. In this new show host Cal Evans talks with Stephan Hochdörfer.

Cal and Stephan talk about a project that Stephan has contributed to, Satis, a tool that allows you to host Composer-installable repositories internally. They talk about some of the updates he made on the project to "scratch his own itch" according to his needs. Cal also asks him about how he found the project and how it was to contribute to the project. They also talk about his other hobby, magic, and how it helped him with the conference speaking he currently does. Finally, they talk about Stephan's involvement with the Frankfurt PHP User Group.
