PHPWomen Launches Partnership Program
Feb 25, 2010 @ 18:53:32

According to a new post to their blog, the PHPWomen group has announced a partnership program for projects that want to put out a message of encouraging diversity in contributors:

As quoted from the information page about the partnerships:

PHPWomen has launched a partnership program for open source projects that are committed to embracing diversity and providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for contributors. We work closely with project leaders to identify specific areas of need, and will actively encourage our members to participate by promoting those needs through various channels. In return, the project leaders will ensure that newcomers to their projects will be welcomed and their contributions appreciated. This includes fostering an open and friendly environment for all newcomers, not just females.

The goal of the project is to encourage inviting environments for open source projects where developers feel like they're given a chance to contribute equally and to provide something more specific than "here's a project that needs help - go for it".

There's already several projects that are on the list including Spaz and the PHP Documentation team. You can find out more specifics on what they're looking for in contributions on the Opportunities page.

Ibuildings and Zend announce partnership
Nov 20, 2006 @ 13:06:16

According to this new post on his blog, Ivo Jansch is announcing that he and the rest of Ibuildings are going to be the Dutch representatives for Zend.

This means that we are going to support the Dutch PHP community with the entire Zend product range, training and support offerings. This is a big step for us, and I think it is a great reward for having provided professional PHP development services over the last years.

Obviously, everyone's excited at the announcement, and here's to hoping only the best for all involved.

PHP Architect's Pro-PHP Podcast: Partnering for Greater Effectiveness
Jan 18, 2006 @ 12:47:30

On his blog today, Marcus Whitney has a few comments about the partnership of php|architect magazine with the Pro-PHP Podcast.

Over the last month, Marco Tabini, Chris Cornutt, Sean Coates and I have been hammering out the details of a partnership between PHP|Architect and our podcast. I’m sure you all have seen that the frequency of the podcasts have been… well… infrequent.

I have been approached by many people who wanted to use the podcast as a vehicle to promote their endeavor, business etc., but Marco and php|a were the first to come to the table with a solution that would make the podcast more stable, free me up to do what I really love which is hosting the show, and actually improve the quality of the broadcasts in several ways.

He goes on, talking more about the format of the shows - interviews and news casts - and how the first show is coming up soon (Friday, Jan. 27th), an interview with Andi Gutmans. You can sign up today to be included...
