A Two-day Look at PHPWeekender
Oct 09, 2006 @ 14:11:00

Tobias Schlitt has covered the PHPWeekender event that happened this past weekend in two new posts over on his blog:

Day one (10.07.06) saw the start of the meeting, and included a three hour tutorial session giving people a crash course to what PHP is and how it functions at a basic level. Pizza for lunch, then right back into the classes - more basics, some XML talk, and XML-RPC/REST/SOAP as well (two different tracks).

Day two (10.07.06) is described in this post along with a summary of how the event went and the feedback from those attending. Topics today included best practices, PHP5's advanced OOP features, "Enterprise PHP", and a final keynote.

Keep an eye out on the PHPWeekender website for complete information, slides, and examples from the event as well.

Sep 27, 2006 @ 12:50:00

Tobias Schlitt has announced on his blog today that their PHP event, PHP Weekender, has reached the 50 attendee mark already.

It is a great feeling for us to see how many people are interested. Since we are at the university, we have enough space left to get some more attendees in, but beware, space is already getting rare.

For complete information on this event, check out the homepage and sign up today. There's no charge - just show up and enjoy learning everything from beginner PHP techniques out to best practices and working with PHP 5.

The event will be presented in German and will be happening October 7th and 8th at Dortmund University. You can get complete details about the event (and reserve your spot) from the event's main website.
