Derick Rethans has two new posts about some of his current involvement in the PHP community - one about an article, and one about a conference.
In this month's issue of php|architect you can find an article on the eZ components. In this article I explain the goals for the project as well as architectural decisions that we took while developing this components library. It also shows a small example on how to use the components. Unfortunately the service (http://geo.derickrethans.nl.) it talks about is not yet life... I should get that going soon.
And, in reference to the upcoming php|tek conference:
Some time ago I already wrote that I will be speaking at php|tek. Besides the three talks I will also give a tutorial/workshop on (proper) database design and optimization.
His talks will include: "A Developer's Guide to Successful Database Design", "eZ Components - RAD for PHP", and "Derick's Ranting Hour".
For a complete listing of the schedule of the conference, check out the php|architect site detailing the conference.
