Harrie Verveer's Blog:
Organizing the Dutch PHP Conference
January 24, 2011 @ 12:30:41

In this recent post to his blog Harrie Verveer talks about his role in organizing this year's Dutch PHP Conference and things he's learned along the way already.

Some of you might already have noticed, others might not, but this year I am part of the team at Ibuildings that is responsible for organizing the DPC: the Dutch PHP Conference. As you can imagine I am thrilled about this! [...] Of course, I could not possibly do this just by myself. [...] Organizing the conference is a huge task and a lot of people at Ibuildings are helping to organize it.

He and Felix de Vliegher will not only be working to create the conference schedule and work with the community and speakers for the event, they'll also be hosting. If you'd like more information about this year's event, go over to the Dutch PHP Conference site for full details. The Call for Papers as only just ended, but keep an eye out for the schedule and when you can order your tickets for this great three day event!

September 14, 2006 @ 10:36:39

Paul Jones has posted a very quick note about one of his presentations today:

The slides from my php|works talk are now available as a PDF file. I'm going to try to create an audio version after I get back from the conference.

You can see a summary of Paul's talk (and a list of the others being given) over on the php|architect site.

Professional PHP Blog:
php|architect Test Pattern
March 22, 2006 @ 06:53:09

The Professional PHP blog has this post today with a highlight of an article in the latest issue of php|architect magazine. Specifically, he (Jeff Moore) mentions taking on the duties of the "Test Pattern" column from the previous author, Marcus Baker.

This month's column takes on the topic of organizing code. I wanted to convey some of the fundamental principles underlying the object oriented paradigm, but in a way that goes beyond objects. In the mid 90's, I had what I consider a major professional epiphany when I finally understood object oriented programming. This month's column is my best attempt to concisely explain the heart of that epiphany.

To check out this latest issue, head over to the php|architect site and order your copy today.
